Thanks for the information! What day and time is the show?

I remember when she left Hometime that there were rumors that
she didn't know a thing about the subject and that she was more
of an actress. When I heard that and thought back to the show,
she didn't seem that bad, or maybe she was a really good
actress. Furthermore, on one Hometime show, I remember at the
end they showed outtakes (kind of like Home Improvement!) and
JoAnn said something really dumb that they clearly had to
scrap. On the other hand, if she really were that clueless
about home improvement, you would think that it wouldn't be
funny enought to include in a outtakes segment. So, I don't
think the question was ever resolved in my mind. Although,
Robin (Dean's new faux spouse on Hometime) definitely does seam
to be an expert.

Anyway, do you get a feel for whether or not she is the expert
or an actress on her new show? Do you have any info on why
she left Hometime and whether she was acting then?

Oh, yeah; Apple-cheeked? Geez.

I have no idea why she left, but the change left a really sour taste
for myself and my SO. It looked like the TV equivalent to too many
real-life situations we knew about: JoAnn works really hard to help
build a successful show, and Dean dumps her for a series of younger
women. (What became of the one before Robin?) They went out of their
way to show us that Dean and Robin live together, now, including some
scenes sharing a bed.

The real kicker was the show where Robin and Dean decide they really
need a break, and take off for "their" cabin. Surprise! It's the
same cabin I watched JoAnn work so hard to help finish. Apparently
Dean got that in the break-up, too.

So, for the folks at Hometime (I know you monitor rec.ww, I've seen
your postings), what's next? Dean dumps Robin and moves into a
sorority house that needs renovating?

I work with Jo Ann's cousin (we are anesthetists in Atlanta) and she said
for a fact that Jo Ann was an aspiring actress and knew nothing about home
repair, etc. before working with Dean. BTW does anyone know why Dean
et.al. go to the trouble of making it seem as if his partner spends time
with him off camera as well as on?

Then why add to this "non-ww'ing" talk?

If you want to talk about a woodworking topic, go right ahead and bring it up.
That's the best way to keep things ww'ing-related.

So, Joe. Why not just skip this thread and go to another?

I can't see in any way, shape or form how this thread could possibly
be ruining anything for anyone.

I am only reading it now because I have read everything else that was

1) Because I LIKE Jo Ann Liebler. She's perky and cute and does a creditable
performance of someone who can work all day without complaining or throwing
stuff. That's rare enough so that it's refreshing. Who cares if she's acting?

2) Because the thread irritates the usenet.net.cops who want to spend more
time policing what other people say than saying anything important theyselves.
Hopefully, this reply will cause them to bust a gut and result in greatly
reduced bandwidth.

3) Did I say how cute Jo Ann is?

This shows what you know about the whole Hometime scene. Before she started
Hometime, "Jo-Jo" self-admittedly "couldn't even drive a nail straight"
Apparently they hired her for something else besides her construction skills -
like her on-camera demeanor and presentation skills.
