Thanks for the information! What day and time is the show?

} In case you don't know yet, this apple-cheeked former cohost of Hometime
} is now hosting the show "Room for a change" on Home and Garden TV (HGTV).
I remember when she left Hometime that there were rumors that
she didn't know a thing about the subject and that she was more
of an actress. When I heard that and thought back to the show,
she didn't seem that bad, or maybe she was a really good
actress. Furthermore, on one Hometime show, I remember at the
end they showed outtakes (kind of like Home Improvement!) and
JoAnn said something really dumb that they clearly had to
scrap. On the other hand, if she really were that clueless
about home improvement, you would think that it wouldn't be
funny enought to include in a outtakes segment. So, I don't
think the question was ever resolved in my mind. Although,
Robin (Dean's new faux spouse on Hometime) definitely does seam
to be an expert.
Anyway, do you get a feel for whether or not she is the expert
or an actress on her new show? Do you have any info on why
she left Hometime and whether she was acting then?
Oh, yeah; Apple-cheeked? Geez.
Ken.
I have no idea why she left, but the change left a really sour taste
for myself and my SO. It looked like the TV equivalent to too many
real-life situations we knew about: JoAnn works really hard to help
build a successful show, and Dean dumps her for a series of younger
women. (What became of the one before Robin?) They went out of their
way to show us that Dean and Robin live together, now, including some
scenes sharing a bed.
The real kicker was the show where Robin and Dean decide they really
need a break, and take off for "their" cabin. Surprise! It's the
same cabin I watched JoAnn work so hard to help finish. Apparently
Dean got that in the break-up, too.
So, for the folks at Hometime (I know you monitor rec.ww, I've seen
your postings), what's next? Dean dumps Robin and moves into a
sorority house that needs renovating?
: Yes, Jojo really was just acting, and it was her idea to leave the show.
: So don't get down on Dean. I'm just glad he dumped the squeaky first
: season replacement for Joanne.
Wait! I thought Robin *was* the first season replacement for JoJo!
Besides, I think Robin's kinda cute ;-)

On her last show Dean mentioned something about her pursuing a career
in stand up comedy.

Fella's,
I don't know who Joann Lieber is. Neither do 2/3 of the men and women
who use Rec.woodworking, the newsgroup this BS keeps showing up on.
If we wanted to watch TV, we'd watch TV...they're a helluva lot
cheaper and take a whole lot less brainpower to operate than these
computers do. Next time, post this crap somwplace else.
HBK
Heartbreak,
Now don't be so angry at this thread. Dean sounds just like
you-Heartbreak Kid!!!!!!
Ray

Then why add to this "non-ww'ing" talk?
If you want to talk about a woodworking topic, go right ahead and bring it up.
That's the best way to keep things ww'ing-related.

Perhaps Jo Ann's cousin, with whom you work, could ask Jo Ann :-)

If you so worried about your brain power (or lack of) read the subjects
of the threads and if it is not of interest DON"T READ IT.
Stop trying to police the news groups and go sit in a corner and play
with you block plane.

So, Joe. Why not just skip this thread and go to another?
I can't see in any way, shape or form how this thread could possibly
be ruining anything for anyone.
I am only reading it now because I have read everything else that was
of interest to me, and I am a little bored, so I am scanning threads
with wierd titles, just for the hell of it.
I would never have SEEN this discussion if I hadn't wanted to.
I agree 100%. Joe and HBK should stop ruining it for the rest of us.
FYI. I really don't care that much about Hometime i just hate net cops.
HBK (right or wrong) has the right to say what he wants to say on this
group.
This woodworking group was set up for that reason, yo express our
questions and answers about WOODWORKING so why don't we end this stupid
thread!!!

Wood working? WOODWORKING??? Hello!!
I thought this group was about Home Repair. And Joanne Liebler
became famous-- thanks to the Internet now World Famous as the
co-host of Hometime, one of the best Home Improvement shows ever to
grace our TV screens.
Woodworking. \

Woodworking? WOOD WORKING??? I thought this group was about Home
Repair. Not bloody woodworking!!!
Just a friendly post from CYBERCOP! (grin)
1) Because I LIKE Jo Ann Liebler. She's perky and cute and does a creditable
performance of someone who can work all day without complaining or throwing
stuff. That's rare enough so that it's refreshing. Who cares if she's acting?
2) Because the thread irritates the usenet.net.cops who want to spend more
time policing what other people say than saying anything important theyselves.
Hopefully, this reply will cause them to bust a gut and result in greatly
reduced bandwidth.
3) Did I say how cute Jo Ann is?
>Woodworking? WOOD WORKING??? I thought this group was about Home

I can see by the header that it's a cross post, so yeah,
woodworking. And home repair.
John,
It's people like you and the 2-3 dozen idiots who keep confusing
woodworking with sitcom TV and common sense with censorship on this
subject who make me realize how shallow the gene pool really is in
this country.

You are factually correct, but she lives on in reruns and videotape. Thus she
will never go away.

I had heard rumors that her career was in the toilet. I didn't know
it meant literally.
You guys make me sick. You just can't stand the thought that Joann knows
as much as Dean and could make a HOMETIME program of her own.

tank, however..

You guys make me sick. I'm assuming you are guys since the only comment
you can make refers to Joann's anatomy and not her ability to do
construction work. You are just jealous because Joann knows as much or
more than Dean and she could have a show of her own.

This shows what you know about the whole Hometime scene. Before she started
Hometime, "Jo-Jo" self-admittedly "couldn't even drive a nail straight"
Apparently they hired her for something else besides her construction skills -
like her on-camera demeanor and presentation skills.

No. Joanne carried her tools in her leather belt. She didn't even
have a tool chest, flat or otherwise.
