Does any one have any experience with Wolverines new product called
Millennium? Here is the pitch:

Millennium is a .044 panel double 4 clapboard and double 4.5 dutch
lap. Its NailTight™ Flexible Hem allows Millennium to be nailed tight
to the substrate while the PermaFlex Suspension Cables work like the
cables of a suspension bridge, permitting the panel to naturally expand
and contract with temperature changes. The product can be installed
with a pneumatic nail gun, which saves time and increases productivity

I'm intrigued by the installation time saved, but I'm fearful that
this 'flexible hem' won't last....Help!!!

Sounds like a case of a good story but without much substance. It does catch
my interest because most of the "experienced"siding installers I hire will
have to be retrained to not nail too tight or place nails in the ends of the
nailing slots.
As for as the time saving factor, how will that benefit you unless you intend
to install it your self?If you are dealing with a contractor, his price is
probably higher because he is using the new high tech panel. But wait a
minute, his labor should be less because it goes up faster.or does it
really?I use a Paslode staple gun that has an adapter head for vinyl
siding. It will float the staple so the siding is not nailed too tight.
I have never seen the Millennium panel but I am not impressed with other
Wolverine products.Certainly .044 is not anything to write home about.Look
at the material, feel of it,compare it with other brand material of
comparable price range. And don't get sold on a characteristic that makes no
difference and does not benefit you.

Ken,
Sorry - I should have mentioned - yes I am looking to do the job
myself, so being able to use my roofing gun would be a big plus....
