If they are coming through the overflow, they are also coming
through the main drain in the tub as both are tied together before the
p-trap. I don't know anything about "camel-back crickets", but my guess
is that they are coming in from the walls/floors and around the fixtures
rather than through the drains. If they were in the drains and had the
ability to get past the p-traps, you would find them in more areas than
just the tub.
I would be willing to bet that you have some kind of a leak and the
water from the tub/shower is getting into the walls somehow and this is
what is attracting them to the area. Make sure your "surround/tile back
splash" is sealed well and that all the fixtures are sealed to the
surround. Also make sure the seal between the surround and the tub is
solid. I would go under this room (basement/crawlspace/lower floor) and
look for any signs of water, maybe even a pipe that is leaking/weeping.
I would find out what is attracting them, fix the situation, and then
apply some sort of insecticide injected into the wall?
Just my 02 worth as to the problem...
