I just purchased an Amana Bottom Freezer Contour Door style Refrigerator
(stainless steel) model # BRF20V1CPSR.

The issue is that I can't figure out how to reverse the door handle (from
right to left). Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for your help on this.

Hi,

Have you checked your owners manual? That type of info is in there on
reversing the doors. If you lost yours...you can download a new one
from thier web site...

in the manual it tells you, we just bought a similar fridge, bottom freezer
22cu ft. Amana black!

its pretty simple, where are you stuck at?

you remove the handle, you remove the hinges on the door, you put the hinges
on the other side of the door, you install the handle on the other side of
the door, and use the plugs from one side over in the other side!

Thanks for your help, I just figured out how to do it. Unfortunately,
it wasn't
that easy for me. The problem is that the refrigerator that I got has
a contour door. In the manual they say "Only a qualified servicer can
reverse this door". Well...I guess I'm a qualified servicer because I
just figured it out. As you pointed out, everything was straight
forward (hinges, plugs, etc), untill I got to the handle. In order to
swap the handle, I had to use a mallot and bang the handle upwards.
Then, after it's removed the entire stainless panel had to get flipped
to the other side (I think that's why they want you to pay them to do
it). Well, I'm glad this is over and maybe this will help someone
else avoid paying amana to swap the doors.

Thanks alot for your help. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your help. I just figured it out. Unfortunately, it
wasn't that straight forward and according to my manual, it says "Only
a qualified servicer can reverse this door" (It's a contour stainless
door).

I had to use a mallot to remove the handle and then I had to rotate
the entire
stainless panel. I'm glad this is over...

How did you get the panel off? I see nowhere that it is screwed or held on, unless maybe uder the rubber seal?

Some just slide into place. Try pushing up on the handle.

So Chappy, ya think it might be a good idea to mention the model number-
as Amana has sold 642 thousand different refrigerator models over the
years....

Google is your friend:

I wish I had googled first on a stove handle a few years ago. I messed
up the door so bad it took a repairman to fix it.

Your model may vary but today everyone has directions and videos on line
for such things.

And the title says a handle, the question says panel?

He probably figured out you have to remove the inside panel to get to
the handle screws.

That generally has not been my experience with Amana refrigerators; since
the doors are reversible, they make it rather easy to move the handle from
one side of the door to the other.

Clearly the OP should actually check the Amana website for a installation guide.

My experience has been with the side by side by side where you can't
flip the doors. We really need to know what Amana. These days Amana is
