Proxima's sun is burning out. It's decreased in brightness by 46% over
the last 10 years, so the inhabitants have much greater need for
artificial light.

This is even worse than it sounds because it used to have another sun
too and they spun around each other, but that one was smaller and burned
out 69 years ago.

It just seems to me like there are plenty of planets to choose from - other than Proxima B. Oh, well.
