Hello,

Just purchased the Craftsman 10" compound miter saw with laser trac
guide, and the laser appears to be off by about 1/16 of an inch. Has
anyone else had this problem, and is there any way to adjust the laser?
I didn't see any adjustment in the manual, but I would rather not
have to take it in to the store.

Thanks!

Take it back and instead buy the Delta CMS with dual laser trac.

yes if it is the more common style that has the laser mounted on a arm to
the left of the blade and comes to the front, has a battery box and on/off
switch on the arm on the left. the head where the laser is mounted will have
3 or 4 smaller head Phillips screws and one larger head Phillips with a
thumbs screw on one side loosen the small screw that will allow to adjust
the laser with the thumb screw (left right) and the larger head Phillips (to
square with blade) hope that helps.if it is a different style provide model
# and Ill give the instruction needed.

then take that one back and buy a Hitachi sliding compound miter saw.
forget the laser line saws......they need to be calibrated constantly (waste
of time).
and many are being recalled.

This doesn't appear to be the style you mrntioned. The laser guide
replaces the inner blade washer. This is model # 315.212500.

Thanks for any help you can give.

ok the washer style you have that turns on from centrifugal force as the
blade turns is non adjustable if it is out it is out.
ensure there is no dirt or saw dust between the washer ( laser ) & blade.
if it is still out the only thing you could try is replace the laser itself
but last time I check the cost of that assembly was not very cheap. if
under warranty take it in to a sears service dept. and they should changed
the laser itself if indeed it is out of alignment.
