American Standard vs. Kohler...HELP

I can't comment on the Kohler toilets but their bathroom sinks seem much
better quality than American Standard. I looked at a Kohler sink in cast
Iron next to AS version of cast called Ameriacast. The kohler was the same
price but the quality was so much nicer. For toilets I have AS and I am
happy with them. Just be careful when buying your toilets because some of
the cheaper ones are made in Mexico and don't have the same quality as the
better toilets also some of the toilets have a larger opening for better
flow than others.

Have installed two American Standard toilets, 2-1/2 neck, glazed inside and
out, and have had absolutely no problems. $80.00 each.

Remodeled all three bathrooms in our house - used 2 AS toilets and a
Kohler. The Kohler always seems to "flush completely" while the AS's
sometimes don't. The Kohler has a water jet at the bottom of the bowl
which helps the flushing process - the AS's that I installed don't. As
far as toilets, I'll be going with Kohler from now on.

The 3 Kohler Wellworth Lite models we have had several years have been great.
Only problems are when WE cause them. ~$100.00 each then.

I bought 2 Kohler Wellworth Lites and an American Std 3 years ago. I
didn't buy 3 Kohlers since it wouldn't fit in the 3rd place. Anyway,
Kohlers are _great_ -- both 1.6g and flush perfectly. American Standard
is pretty much a dog. I was about ready to go out and replace that one
with a (now smaller) Kohler Wellworth, but we sold the house, so now
it's somebody else's problem <g>.

I'm just wondering what goes wrong with the AS toilets? We've had AS
toilets in every house and apartment I've ever lived in, and while
they're not things of beauty, they do seem to do the daily job, if you
know what I mean. We just moved into a 12 year old house with AS
toilets that seem to be holding up just fine. Just moved from an 18
yo house with similar AS toilets that were just fine. And my parents
live in the same house that they bought in 1952 and the original AS
toilet in that house seems to be doing fine. What are all the
problems that people are having?

We have two AS....they have the "jet" as well. We have had no problems, none,
not once.
