mounting Sharp projector

Nothing wrong with mounting the projector upside down - that is how it is
done with Sharp's ceiling mount. Just remember to change the picture
orientation on the adjustment menu. There is no adjustment on the 37U for
angle-to-screen compensation. The 95 series does have an adjustable lens
that is supposed to help.

I don't think the original poster was concerned about the orientation
of the projector...only whether it was harmful to have it sit upside
down under its own weight. I've got mine on a dense sheet of foam with
a width of about 3 inches in on both sides of the projector, allowing
for air to pass under the unit near the bulb. No ill effects noticed
so far.
