Ok, I need a math geek for this one. What's the formula for calculating
the screen dimensions (height and width) of a widescreen tv, given the
diagonal measurement? This here math illiterate would appreciate the
help.

If you have the diagonal measurement, which we will call D:

For a 4:3 Set:
Width = (D / 5) x 4
Height = (D / 5) x 3

For a 16 x 9 Set:

Width = (D / 18.35755975) x 16
Height = (D / 18.35755975) x 9

BTW, I am not a math geek. I just happened to remember a few trig and
geometry functions from my high school days. Remember to do the operations
in parenthesis first.

If you don't know A^2 + B^2 = C^2, then I'd rather be a geek than an idiot
any day....
