Scene: Holo Link 2, SB OMEGA
When Kinn walked through the doors she noticed that Newell was walking =
around ailmlessly.
"Who's there?" he asked
"It's me, Mithrilian. Stay calm, Cliff. You'll be alright."
She came up to him and gave him a hypo spray in the arm. "That should =
calm you down." she said. Then she took out her tricorder. Her scans =
revealed what she hoped wouldn't have happened. His retna's were burnt; =
for good.
Then Kinn tapped her comm badge. "Kinn to USS HERACLES: 2 to beam =
directly to sick bay. Energize."
Scene: Sickbay, USS HERACLES
Once back on board the ship Kinn had ordered CPO Francis to run the =
standard tests on Lt Newell. In the meantime she notified LCdr Turek, Lt =
Thomas, and Cmdr Lenin.
Thomas arrived first, followed by Lenin and lastly Turek. She explained =
to them that she had managed to use Newell's cybernetic wetwire socket =
to connect him to a holoprojector so he could see what was going on and =
control it with his mind.
But he was still very nervous.
"Sir," began Newell "I'm not exactly fit for duty like this." he tried =
to force a smile but couldn't.
Lenin nodded to Thomas who came over and sat down opposite Lenin on the =
other side of Newell. Turek stood at the end of the bed.
"You'll be ok, Cliff" said Thomas.
Newell swallowed hard. "I, know a way to fix this. But, it would =
involve a shuttle trip; that could take several days."
Turek raised an eyebrow. "Mr Newell, you could always get a VISOR."
Newell shook his head. "No, I can't. It would overload all my =
cybernetics."
"If you'll excuse me gentelmen; I need to run some more tests." said =
Francis.
"It's alright James" said Kinn "I'll take over from here."
Francis nodded and Kinn finished her tests.
Time: 2 hours later
Scene: Sickbay, USS HERACLES
This time it was just Thomas and Newell. "Byron, if I need to go on the =
shuttle trip, I want you to come. I can't pilot like this."
Thomas didn't respond just sat there for awhile then he replied: "You =
must have seen a lot over the last centuries." he paused "Sorry, bad =
choice of words. So, what is this trip exactly."
Newell sighed. "Well, to make a long story short. It's a cybernetics =
retailer. I used to work for him. In the Ares system."
"The Ares system! That's a 2 day trip at warp 8!" again he finished =
with: "Sorry."
"Maybe, but he's the only one that would have the parts I need. And =
he's the only that can do the surgery."
"Stay here." said Thomas and he began to work a console.
Time: 4 hours later
Scene: Bridge, USS HERACLES
Newell walked out onto the bridge. Lenin got up immediatley to know =
why, he almost blew the poor guys head off. Then he decided not to. "Lt =
Newell." he said.
"Cmdr Lenin: Human; Rank: Commander; Position: USS Heracles, CO..." =
said Newell
"Very impressive." said Lenin "How did you know all that." Lenin had =
not quite yet noticed Newell's eyes. They displayed the information. =
*Amazing* he thought. As Newell looked around he took in more =
information. The type was so small that no one could read it.
"So, Mr Newell. A new invention?" asked Kinn, almost sarcastically.
Newell smiled. "Sort of. I cannot see as you perceive it. This is much =
like a VISOR but has a smaller set of hertz to Mega-hertz of vision. It =
can display a target for type I, II and rifle phasers. As well as =
infared and much more. I prefer the heat vision. I have images of all of =
you stored in memory and can therefore use holographic mode and much =
more. All courtesy of your CSO Lt Thomas."
"So, when do you leave us Mr Newell?" asked Lenin
"No need anymore sir. Don't even need to take that trip. Although the =
holodeck medical program (nrpg: assuming there's one on the holodeck :)) =
should take some of the credit." he looked at Kinn "No offense =
intended."
Respectfully Submitted,
Seth

NRPG: Just thought I'd add something new to my character. Hope it =
doesn't go to far with technology :) I'll update my bio at my next =
promotion stage. You can compare his eyes to that of the AI's on S: A &B
