Scene: In the underground storehouse
Time: Concurrent with my post "Cautious exchanges"

Katzkel, the great-great-grandfather of Captain Alyza will stony on
the
outside, but was an emotional turmoil on the inside. The device the
humans were using on him caused both turmoil and control. The
turmoil
helped keep the Vulcan mind for rebelling against the control.
Katzkel
was living a year every day that was the worst year imaginable.
People
died gruesome deaths. However these were not just any people, the
people he knew and cared about. Financial and farming disasters
occur.
Anything that could go wrong did go wrong, and she had no control
over
the emotional responses he was having. This was the doing of the
device. Stonily he went about his business, oblivious of what was
going
on on this planet. He tended his farm, he ate, he drank, and he
slept.
He did not meditate, he could not meditate. The emotions had control
of
him. So one level of his mind was roiling emotions, while another
level
mechanically went about his daily business.

To him, as to all Vulcans, the world was walking nightmare. They did
not notice each other, nor did they notice the humans among them.
They
were walking contradictions: emotional turmoil and mechanical
control.
Only time will tell, what toll this would take on the Vulcans body and
mind.

No one knew where the device it come from; no one knew how the humans
got it or where they hid it. Then again, no one knew anything but
the
walking nightmares.
