Late-Nite Reviews :

Not a terrible movie - the expected mix of comedy/drama
with one unexpected surprise.

However, credits ... the entire movie was carried by
the very talented Mckenna Grace, all others were
merely supporting characters. So, why does Carrie Coon
get top billing ???

Grace has since become a teen hottie - and is into
selling her music vids. Only avg imho ... and she
may be Bi. Whatever.

ANYway, olde-tyme actors aside, Grace WAS the movie
and did it very well.

This movie DID have one interesting angle - Harold
Ramis had DIED before it was made ... yet they did
a CGI version of him to fill-in critical scenes.
Was this his wish ? What's the $$$ angle for his
relatives/agents/etc ? Do the dead, computer-
resurrected, actors have copywrite/residuals ???

That angle becomes more relevant every day as "AI"
improves. Current tech CAN do a pretty damned good
rendition - including voice/nuances - of human
actors dead or alive. As Hollywood and Big Money
are nearly synonymous, where does this lead ?

This WAS a facet of the last actors strike, but was
it really resolved ? In a couple of years - really
THAT soon - "AI" will be able to create totally
believable on-screen characters ... who are NOT
Union, demand NO paychecks/perks/etc. We saw
hints of this going well back. The computer
power is MUCH greater now and will be MUCH greater
in the next few years.

In Japanese anime-derivisions completely fake
'actors' are oft more important/compelling
than flesh-n-blood actors. Is this now the
pattern for Hollywood ?
