I have just bought some quite dirty and greasy tracks. Also the rails are
quite dark. Does anyone have good advice on how to clean them?
Kind Regards
Christian
HI,
use wet and dry to clean the rails, and wd40 to clean the track surface, and
it should be ok, I have used this technique only just 5 minutes ago! honest!
regards
Rob.
What kind of product is that? I'm not sure if we have that in Denmark. Will
I find it along the kitchen cleaning materials or in a tool shop?
Kind Regards
Christian

my advice is to go to an electronics shop and buy some contact cleaner in an
aerosol can. youll be surprised how much dirt it will pull up and if you get
the non-conductive type you can use it to clean you cars too (and then
immediately re-lubricate because this stuff just disappears oil and grease).
check it out!

I use the baby wipes that come in the round tubs/cannisters ! They go a
long way too, are very portable, don't require water or chemicals, smell
good, can swab out the slot too, and the track dries for use right away. It
is remarkable how well these clean track.

Sorry, WD40 is a lubricat, non-silicone which is why it is so good. You can
buy it from autocar shops etc, it is used to clean tyres etc and works
really well. It has suggestions on the can what you can use it for but in
slot racing they don't usually surface like sticky locks rusty bolts etc
etc!
Hope it helps regards

I bought some contact cleaner that explicitely said "does not attack plastic
surfaces" on the can and I am quite content with that.
Have Fun,
