Dear Nirupam,
So nice to hear from you. What a privilege it is to
receive a note from someone who has, together with Dilip
Rajgor, done so much for studies of ancient bharatiya
coins? Do you know, Nirupam that the word bharatiyo in
Gujarati means 'caster of metals'. What a magnificent
metallurgical tradition in the very word, bharatam, the
nation of bharata?
Yes, I have cracked the code of the so-called Harappan
script -- what I call Sarasvati hieroglyphs. There is a 7
volume work on Sarasvati.

Some notes at

together with albums of pictures.
The decoding is breath-taking in its simplicity:
repertoire of a mint/smithy (property items such as
furnaces, minerals, metals, alloys) Surest heritage which
can trace the numismatic heritage of Bharatam to 4th
millennium BCE in terms of metallurgical brilliance.
Language is: mleccha, meluhha, the proto-bharatiya
Prakrit. Code: hieroglyphs (read rebus, that is similar
sounding words called homonyms).
Dr. Dilip Rajgor's work, your work and other
contributions on Bharatiya numismatics such as those of
Krishnamurthy on Sangam Age/Pallava coins are crucial to
validate this decoding. I am sure that numismatists will
carry this further and pin-down the chronology since 1500
BCE after the people moved away from the Sarasvati River
basin due to the desiccation of the great vedic river.
Even the croats claim that they are sarasvats: sarasvat >
hravat > kravat > croat tracing from the Behistun
inscription, ref. to hravat mentioned by Darius.
Congratulations on the magnificent work you Nirupam and
Dilip Rajgor have done. They were a great education for
me as I got involved with the metallurgical heritage of
Bharatam as integral to Sarasvati civilization (with 2000
of 2600 archaeological sites on the banks of Sarasvati --
not on Sindhu!). We have to work further to understand
the nature of sauraseni language and links with languages
such as Nahali (on Tapati river basin). It is remarkable
that the Gulf near the mouth of Narmada and Tapati is
called Khambat. kampat.t.am means a 'mint'. How to
represent a mint? kamad.ha means 'penance'; so the
hieroglyph gets evolved, showing a person seated in yogic
posture. Surrounding animals? Minerals, furnaces!
Repertoire of the kamad.ha 'mint'.
We have to list all the mints of Bharatam and trace back
their history to Sarasvati civilization times. Who are
the pitr.-s, our ancestors who could explain the
magnificence of the Delhi iron pillar? It is a revelation
indeed that iron smelting furnaces have been discovered
in Ganga basin dated to 1800 BCE in places like
Lohardiva, Malhar and Raja-nal-ki-tila. We had only one
age: metals age, since copper age and iron age coalesced
on Sarasvati and Ganga river basins. We have to re-study
the copper anthropomorphs, one of which had a fish
hieroglyph inscribed. bed.a hako 'fish' (Santali); med.ha
'ram' (Skt.); me~r. 'iron' (Mundarica) ! bed.a 'two ends
of a hearth' (Gujarati) A Munda etymological variant of
hako is ayo. Yes, ayas 'metal' of Rigveda. Surely, we are
children of these great metallurgists of yore, the purve
yajnika-s and vra_tya-s who did the Mahavrata before
starting the agnis.t.oma.
We have to totally revamp our understanding of our
bharatiya heritage. Aha, Bharatiyo as they say in
Gujarati mleccha (of dvi_pava_sin, of Gulf of Khambat).
Dhanyavaadah.
K.
