I saw this today:

I couldn't help but wonder how someone with a time machine might take
advantage of that information.

It would be very tempting to see if you could go back and reason with
Hitler, make him see that his racism was misguided, and have him abandon
it. I'm not sure when the best time in his life would have been to do that.

And if an appeal to reason didn't work, I could definitely imagine going
to his political opponents or the media in the years when he was still
competing for office - and losing - and exposing his actual roots. He'd
have a huge challenge retaining at least the racial part of his program
if he were proven to be made up of "mongrel races" himself. (I think
"mongrel races" is how the Nazis described Africans and Jews).

Of course, the biggest challenge would be PROVING these allegations to
people who had no understanding of genetics. After all, DNA wasn't
indentified until after WW II and much of the science we take for
granted now hadn't yet been done.

What does racism have to do with anything important at that time?

Hitler's ambitions were to increase Germany's extent, that is what
counts. If he was a wee bit Jewish it would not have made any
difference.

In fact I would argue Reinhard Heydrich was at least as committed to
the racist ideology as any Nazi and if the definitions were strictly
applied he was a mischling...

i do believe that the madman needed scapegoats-and he learned quite a
bit in vienna, according several tv shows presented by history channel-
and bigotry fit the bill. so did the treaty of versailles. i wonder how
he felt about the kaiser permitting lenin to enter russia.
