Elizabeth I continued the Tudor Dynasty.

10th February, 1639

On this day King Robert II lost the Tudor's greatest living servant
when the iconic Monarchist General Oliver Cromwell was killed
defending Newcastle from the latest Scottish invasion.

How on earth do you turn a minor land owning gentleman with an interest
in radical politics into a soldier without some form of major upheaval in
society?

The point about Cromwell isn't that he was a soldier, but that until
Civil War came, he wasn't...

You might do better picking John Lilbourne as your protagonist.
