Does anyone know of a source which might have information concerning a
man who served as a marine engineer C. 1910-1920 (+/- a few years)
aboard a ship with a port of registry in England or Scotland?

Newfoundland.
You will get good advice on this site. They hold about 70 per cent of
British records.
It will be helpful if you know the name and official number of any ships he
sailed on.
