There was a bit on the news last night about some wealthy Australian who
intends to build a replica of the Titanic, but with more lifeboats.

Titanic II will be much taller than the original, about the same length, and a little wider. The height will come from increased deck-to-deck heights plus one additional deck below the Saloon level. GRT accordingly may be over 50,000 - still a rowboat by 21st Century standards!

It will feature modern bow thrusters, basically every modern interior amenity found on the Carnivals and Royal Caribbeans.

No question it will be a gas to see this ship happen. But it will seem
pretty eerie when she makes her maiden voyage. I think I'll be prudent
wait for the second or third sailing! :D
