Why is nobody talking about apology for European slaves?
Why is nobody talking about apology for other races - Arabs, India etc.
slaves?
Why is only African slaves we talk about?

Before the Africans were brought to America as slaves, the Europeans were
already brought there as slaves.
Do they need an apology too?

How about apology to the American Indians? Also, and this is a sore point, I
know, a lot of the slaves transported to America were enslaved by their own
people in Africa and sold to slavers. I know this evil does not justify the
evil of American slavery, but why don't these (I think) primarily east
african countries apologise for sending their own people to the coast to be
sold to slavers. I for one have no problem with the apology for slavery in
America, but don't see why we should be the only ones apologising. I may be
wrong about this but I thought that a significant portion of slavers were
British.

Also, as you point out, where does it end? What about the puritans who were
forced out of England to practice their faith. Thousands died either in the
passage over the Pond or once they got here. Aren't they and their
descendants owed an apology from the Brits???

"Apology" is a moral issue not historical.

If the hammer of historical retribution where to be evenly dropped, not
even Gandhi would be left standing.

History should be based on information. Your issue is based on what to do
with this information.
