I've only seen a couple of marine 440 engines, but as far as I could
tell the differences were limited to the heads (plumbed for wet
exhaust), intake/exhaust, oil pan/pickup, and internals (in the case of
reverse-rotation engines). The blocks I've seen had the standard
automotive mounting ears and bolt pattern.
That doesn't mean they ALL did though. Best way to know for sure is to
check it over before buying.

Sorry, no "bigger" heads on 440's, if there were, they'd be the ones to use
instead of automotive ones. >,angled intake to keep
carb level,
Sorry, same intake, just an angled "wedge" spacer is used. You can buy them to
keep carbs level on a drag car with a lot of front end movement.

Sorry, windage tray doesn't do anything to "keep the oil pump working when
accelerating" The baffles in the oil pan do that. The windage tray keeps oil
off the crank and reduces horsepower loss when accelerating.

I did, you should read my reply, I didn't say anything about the cam, did I ?
You ever seen anyone hunting for 440 "marine" heads?
>..I`m not talking about a car motor someone put in a boat.
Why do you think I am?
Because your post is in error and I pointed them out????
Maybe you need to know the mechanical side of "your" marine engines

At some tracks, there used to be rules against using an aluminum intake
manifold. It had to be a cast iron factory manifold. The favorite was a dual
plane Chevy "marine" small block intake. It wasn't "angled"
The angled carb plates first came from "marine" engines.
Maybe they don't need to angle the carbs
Your "general" terms were in error, I pointed them out, you are still in error,
This ie a MOPAR newsgroup, or didn't you know that????
Oh, and BTW- I've helped guys with their 302 Ford "marine" engines" and they
didn't have any of the things you claim to ge "in general" either.
So now, I've talked about Chevy and Ford "marine" engines and I haven't seen
any of the things you claim are "in general"
Sounds like you should stick to selling them instead of trying to talk
mechanical parts

You probably don't want to hear my opinion of you then?

And your point would be???

It's CONTEXT, learn to use the english language, ok?

No, what you really mean is you hope you never have to have me fix anything for
you
Just so you don't have any illusions, your post was the June DF of the Month
winner
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy!!!!
NOTHING in it was accurate, no matter how much you have tried to "back away"
from what you said initially.
Oh, and how about the post from the guy who REALLY know what he is talking
about???
Blows your shit right out of the water
