I am rebuilding a 73 Dodge Dart Sport. I am using a 16 gallon fuel cell
in the trunk so I do not have room for a full size spare. Is there a
modern space saver spare tire that will fit my Dart? It has the 5x4 1/2
bolt pattern.

There are plenty of modern cars with the proper bolt pattern. I would visit
a wrecking yard and pick something up for a 5 lug Mustang.

I checked with a local wrecking and the only 5 lug Mustang is a 17". I
am going to run 14" rims on the car. How would the 17" Mustang space
saver work with my 14" rims?

I took the spare rim and installed a space saver tire on it.
It works great if you can find the right size space saver spare and the rim
is still original to the car.

There are 5 lug Mustangs that use 15 and 16" wheels. I really doubt they
would supply a 17" spare for those cars. Check with a wrecking yard that
isn't staffed by idiots.
