No, only with a certain individual (and his machinist)

No offense intended (I know some tend to get offended), but I beg to differ.
When I was a machinist, I could easily carry Ford 302 blocks, but I had to put a
bit of grunt when I carried 318/360 blocks. I'd have to say Mopar smallblocks
are around 40-50 lbs heavier than a 302 block.

Best Regards,
Josh

I thought about it some more, and I wouldn't say it was 50 lbs more. I think I was
off earlier, I'll go with 35-40 lbs heavier.

Hey Max, its been a while. Hope you are doing OK

Don't waste your time weighing the 360. It will only serve to bring your
choice of scales under fire ;-)

Merry Christmas,
Ken

Don't waste your time. I already answered the question. They weigh aprox.
160lbs. That is according to the mopar engine manual. Not a guess.

Depends on whether it it's a "click" scale or a "beam" scale

Laura Bush woke up the other morning and found herself sleeping with the
President of the US. Since Bill Clinton has been in office only 4-5000 other
women can say that.

Don't fret. The caps weigh more than you think.

I heard of this sort of thing before with a 340 block somebody wanted to
ship, which just did scrape in under the 150 lb mark *without* the main
caps. Of course, the box it's in will weigh something too... wrap the
block in light cloth or tape it up (keep the packing fragments out of
the oil/water passages)and use something light weight to keep it from
rattling around too much, styrofoam blocks work well, check it on your
bathroom scales for good measure. It will likely be close.

Make sure everything that can come off the block is removed (obviously
don't leave motor mounts etc on it) and if it slips in under 150# ship
it and send the caps/bolts in another box.

Agreed. I'll just say that I lifted it in and out of my 2500 by myself. Let
them figure out if I am a puny little guy or what.

Yep, engine manual, bulletin #8, page 149 "A bare LA block with main
caps weighs approximately 160 pounds".

AAC blocks are the most cost effective and eco-friendly material used as substitute of traditional clay bricks. It is recommended by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) as material of choice for LEED certification and offers cost savings up to 40% due to huge savings in structural costs and increase in floor space area. It is termed as the wonder building material.
