Skype seems to have reached the stage where it's fairly reliable ...
anyone here use it?

I tried to use it - got my account set up, phone plugged in, etc, but
when I tried to make a call, for some reason I could hear the other
person, but he couldn't hear me. Never did figure out what the issue
was even with multiple attempts. Gave up, asked them to refund my
money, which they did. Maybe the problem is that I was using a M$
phone on a Linux system. :-)

Had an idea: we could all get together on Skype every now and again by
video conferencing - you know, actually talk to each other, have a
weird kind of virtual party, maybe ... your thoughts? If you could
get it working on linux - you do know they have come a long way
recently?

Sounds like a great idea, Fiona! But keep in mind that I'm a
technodolt. When I do get the phone and video cam working, I'll let
you know. In the meantime you'll have to party without me. But then I
always arrive fashionably late to any party. ;-)

I look too much like Freddy Kruger on a bad day and sound too much like the
Godfather, but I'll give it a go.
But like Garry, I need the kit. I might be getting a job on Second life,
soon, which will mean these things will be tax deductible, therefore
affordable.
At least there won't be any spelling mistakes!

The replies are coming in slowly ... we all appear to be blissed out
on Reiki! Lol! I'm going to give it another week or so and then start
suggesting dates for us all to get together.
