OT to Sue (or anyone, really): Free Usenet News Servers

[Garry Williams]

Sue (or anyone else), can you recommend some good Usenet news servers
that are free? I don't need it for myself, but rather for someone who
follows our group regularly, but their provider has decided to drop
usenet.

That's the one I use. formerly known as news.motzarella.org
Does all you need from a text only usenet server.

I've been using motzarella.org servers, but they're switching to a new
one called eternal-september. They would go to the motz site to sign up
for an account and get a username and password, but it's free. Other
fairly reliable servers are albasni.net and also aioe.org.
