I scanned this from a book because it is about Wild oat which is/was
unclassified in terms of the astrological signs. I made this to talk about
specifically about Hong kong people. Because hong kong is a very Wild oat
type of place. The descriptions of the bach flower essences alone is a good
substitute for the DSM.
WILD OAT: Dissatisfaction, diversity, the "rolling stone". Despondence and
unpredictability.
This Remedy remains unclassified for several reasons, some of which concern
us here. We have placed it under Aries because rulership of Aries was
previously regarded as Mars, and much of the blind energies released in the
wild Oat type are Martian in nature. Aries rules the head, and esoteric
rulership is far more accurate in allocating Mercury as ruler of the
cerebral hemispheres which, for man in the West, are almost entirely
occupied with matters concerning his survival in a social structure that
demands quick wittedness, a competitive spirit, pragmatism and practical
application ... all of which come under Mercury.
Aries is, however, not a happy place for WILD OA T which has very strong
Third Ray qualities, as we shall soon discover, and the Third Ray does not
suit the first house or the Sign of Aries for it is diffuse, lacking in
concentration, diverse, sprawling and often uncoordinated.
Thus, pending further research, we are leaving WILD OAT unclassified and,
indeed, it is probably the most characteristic Flower type for the Fifth
Subrace, whose target at this time is the opening of the Throat Chakra ruled
by the Third Ray of Active Intelligence.
WILD OAT has a great number of talents usually, though he can be a
Jack-of-all-trades. His problem lies in his inability to find the way. The
constant agitation of his mind prevents the inflow of spiritual insight as
to the nature of his soul's purpose, without which he is a rudderless boat
on a storm-tossed sea.
Ambition is thwarted through lack of direction. They do not like to be taken
along by the current but wish to navigate their own course. Because they
have no harbor in mind or goal for their voyage on life's ocean, they dabble
with many things and usually end up as dilettantes.
Nothing brings them satisfaction, and everything seems superficial unless
they stumble upon (purely by accident) the soul's purpose and coordinate
their activities with it. Their negative outlook draws them into the company
of negative people, and they are easily tempted to break the rules as the
rules to them are meaningless. The WILD OAT cannot find his niche, he may
wander from job to job, looking for his "thing." In this way he becomes "a
rolling stone that gathers no moss."
The other Third Ray Remedy which equals WILD OAT in diversity is
SCLERANTHUS, but you will remember that SCLERANTHUS at least has his choice
of action narrowed down to a duality and he often oscillates within this
duality.
Not so with WILD OAT, whose mind is crowded constantly lit him up, but which
he soon discards for Lack of drive and concentrated power. They win respect
because of their energy and because of their superficial expertise. Then,
just when they have established goodwill and respect, the old neural itch
strikes again, and they become critical and skeptical of those who employ
them or work with them, and undo all the goodwill. They become flotsam and
jetsam, tossed up by the indecisions of their personalities.
If we say that man is by nature promiscuous, then we must affirm the same of
the WILD OAT type in regard to his mental inclinations. He flirts with every
offer that comes his way and is never backward in seizing opportunities to
change his current way of living.
The positive type of WILD OAT allows his Fifth Ray inclinations to assert
themselves. He becomes one-pointed, achieves direction and even if he is not
actually fulfilling his soul's purpose, he can eke out an existence which
makes him wanted, useful, creative and happy.
