Project Orion was the first engineering design study of a spacecraft
intended to be directly propelled by a series of nuclear explosions
behind the craft to affect nuclear propulsion. Early versions of the
vehicle were seriously proposed that would have taken off from the
ground, with significant associated nuclear fallout; later ones were
proposed for use only in space.
Besides 'seriously proposed' and 'associated with nuclear fallout',
the only thing missing here are the computer simulations and cartoon
illustrations on take-off ... can you say "Have BP, Will Travel" and
'Cape Compton".

My scientist friend is working in conjunction with Tommy Joe on a fart
rocket. It will be propelled by a series of farts. If the technology
works
it will be possible to fart around the universe on nothing more than a
payload of fart producing foods.

Ollie. But that's besides the point, which is that Ollie was not
talking about farts, he was talking about his scientist friend. It
