And nobody noticed that you were first in the valley this morning and
started this thread Jackie. Just thought I'd mention it and give you

Well if mine don't work for me then I'm pretty sure that yours wouldn't
either. :(
Anyhow why would you want to deny Jackie her moment of glory at being
second? Spoilport!!! ;).

Good afternoon Pam - Thank you - There were no other posts showing when I
popped-in this morning the post from Bri came in after mine on my server.
Very strong winds here today, not very good for when you have just visited
the hairdresers!
I hope you have a very good day.

Good afternoon Bri - The rain did stay off but so very windy again, not good
after going to the hairdressers.

Just thought I'd pop in my experience, Jackie, cos they were thinking
you'd double posted. I knew different ;-)

What a day to have to go out when you've just had your hair done :-(

I *am* having a good day, thanks, mainly because I've had a significant
repair and now at least one leg is fitting in the hip properly ;-)
OK, it's painful because, nothing daunted, silly brain has decided it
will repair the other hip/leg/foot and has suddenly set about it about
half an hour ago. I shouldn't have mentioned it in Ups, it's given the
brain ideas .. LOL

I think you are mistaken Pam, when a post is made it is date and time
stamped and that information is propagated to all the other servers but the
time and date information remain with it, if your newsreader is showing a
different time to those I posted I would very much appreciate a screen shot
showing the post times as I would like to investigate further.

Here are three separate screengrabs showing the two posts on 3 different
servers and all of them show Bri's post as being the first one 2 minutes
and 20 seconds before Jackie's.

Please post a screen grab of your newsreader showing different times I am
really curious now.

Good afternoon Jackie,
Please don't think for one minute I am saying you are telling fibs because
I'm not, most newsreaders are set to download posts at certain intervals,
when yours downloaded the posts Bri's GMT wasn't there but both you and Bri
were composing a GMT thread at the same time however Bri pressed send a
couple of minutes before you did making his the first post on the server,
when your newsreader next downloaded the posts it will most probably have
retrieved both Bri's post and yours at the same time. this is how we manage
to double up the GMT post sometimes and we have all done it.

It's not a problem at all and well done for getting in here so early.

> AVery blustery winds here today - not good after visiting the hairdressers!

Gosh yes, your hair does look nice :-), we have had a bit of rain but it
hasn't amounted to much, it hasn't even registered on my machine.

Thanks, enjoy the rest of yours.

No, there was only one post in the valley when I synched and that was
Jackie's GMT. It wasn't until quite some minutes later when I synched
again that Bri's post arrived on the server which may now have been the
same server as I synched from first - that's the way ntl do it. Sorry,
but that's the way it was for me.

On ntl servers anything can happen, have had posts arrive a day late or
sometimes not at all - even a post I have written myself has gone that
way for me though other people have replied to it so it had obviously
been propogated by the server I posted to.

It sounds like the NTL servers missed Bri's post out at first then because
it was definitely made before Jackie's as the timings on each post show.
Thanks for the explanation, I can rest easy now.

Nicely worked out between you, it's interesting to see how things can go

Bri, this is ntl we're talking about here.
Even when ntl owned them they were worse than a five year old's efforts
at servers. Now they're only slightly better but you can go a few days
at a time just by chance not getting connected to the one (?) that isn't
right ;-)

I must admit it had me puzzled at first, I agree about NIN though it's the
best 8.50 (approx) a year I spend.
