Kenwood TM-G707 Slow Scanning Speed

Hi,

I bought (new) a Kenwood TM-G707 dual band (144/440) mobile transceiver
about 4 years ago. The only major complaint I have is the slow scanning
speed. I have 27 two meter repeaters programmed into memory (channels), but
compared to my Icom V8000 two meter (mono band) mobile transceiver, the V8000
can scan 27 channels several times before the TM-G707 scans the same
frequencies (channels) once. Note: I am referring to scanning when there is
no activity on any repeater.

When looking for someone to talk to, I often scan repeaters. If someone
"puts out his/her call", I often miss it.

A web search for a possible modification or "adjustment" for this model
radio didn't produce results.

Note: I am a service technician (repair TVs, DVD players, stereos, etc.).

Is there a modification/adjustment to increase the scanning speed?
