Hi Folks,
Does anyone have a possible replacement part for the
volume/squelch or the RIT/RF Gain pots used on the Kenwood TR751A/E 2
meter allmode? The original Kenwood parts (R23-3403-05, R23-9402-05)
are discontinued but somebody had to make these parts for Kenwood. Any
ideas? I have a bad RIT/RF Gain pot and I want to replace the volume/
squelch pot at the same time since they seem to have an affinity for
going bad.
If I come up with a solution before someone here does,
I'll post the information here for others to use.

Bud

Update: *nobody* has stock of these parts. I have seen a lot of
posts from other folks looking for these parts and there are none to
be had, discontinued by Kenwood. So, I am looking for a potentiometer
manufacturer willing to do a custom run of ~100 of each, which I will
buy and then sell to others that need them. So, the hunt for a
suitable vendor is on. I already have a list of manufacturers that
*won't* make it. :-(

Were you able to make a run of those potentiometers for the TR-751.

Hello Joseph,I had same problem with my TR751e after many years of use.
Could not find a source for replacement parts,so dismantled RF gain control
and found that the little metal slider part had detached itself from its
support! I refitted slider part to the plastic mount using a tiny amount of
superglue, after lightly scoring both parts with needle file.Refitted RF `pot`
to radio, and it worked ok, no noise etc.!
So,with my `new found ` confidence,I dismantled the VOL.control,which was also
faulty, and found it too,had exact same problem with the TINY metal slider
becoming detached from its` base. Refitted `pot` to radio, and has been working
ok since. This was three years ago too!

I Have to stress that some experience with working with TINY parts, helps!
Hope this info.might be of some use to you,Joseph.

R&R has them backordered. Try http://stores.goldeneagleradios.com/

The part numbers are:

RV50303522 For squelch/audio
RV20303523 For RIT

About $10 each with inexpensive shipping via USPS.

Good luck es 73,

Seriously wanting to buy this rig but don't want any surprises. So can somebody please verify this:

VR4 (RIT/RF) show 10K for both in the schematic but the parts list shows a double package of 100K?

VR5 (SQL/AF/SW), parts list & schematic agree: 10K f/Vol.; 50K f/SQL.

I mean by actual measurement of course, since I only have documents to look at.

Thanks to all.

Just an update. I just ordered the Volume Pot today, it is $25 plus shipping and they gave me same day service.
