[TH78] Kenwood TH78 total breakdown...

[TH78] Kenwood TH78 total breakdown...

Hello,

My TH78 had a failure on VHF channel A for some time, but I have not any
time to repair it (capacitor to change ??? I do not know but i can read
that other have same problem...)

But today, my TH78 do not want even more to put into operation,
absolutely nothing happens!!! Screen is blank.. No sound..
The batteries are charged, the battery backup is changed

Do you know what I can try to repair?
Where can I find the electrical diagrams?

I'm having trouble with my computer viewing pdf files right now, but I
suspect the manual here has schematics. If not, my apologies...

Finally got my pdf reader to work. Alas, no schematic in the above
link. Sorry about that. I'm used to all my Kenwood manuals having
schematics in them...

Thanks for your help.

I found the Kenwood technical notice this morning. And it contains the
electrical diagram and more...

But i haven't the link on my personal computer: I will to post it next
week on the news group.. when i will come back to my work

I found also why the TH78 wouldn't start: It miss a 5V (called "5M" on
the diagram) on a CPU-card. Probably because a cut wire into the card...

Now, my TH78 is started again... but the VHF squelch failure remains..
