Anyone have any idea where to get replacement tubing for a fogger?
I have an old VEI V-925 Party Fogger, and the poly tube that feeds
from the tank to the pump wound up dry rotting on me.
It's 1/16" inner diameter, 1/8" outer diameter.
And nope, before you suggest them, , Lowes and Home Depot do not have
tubing that small, nor does Pep Boys. I'm running out of time. :-(

If you have access to an account, Grainger should have it, as should any
other industrial supply store, though Grainger is probably the fastest.

It appears to be the same stuff used for some air compressor setups,
chemical injection systems, things like that...

I'm not sure, but perhaps small engine fuel line might work as well. HD and
Lowes don't carry that, either, so you'll have to go to a lawnmower repair
shop.

If worse comes to worse, buy a cheapo fogger and use the tube from that.

Or be like me, buy 1/2 price foggers on Nov. 1st and have nearly a dozen
spares. heh

Good Luck!

I think that's about the size of aquarium air tubing. You could try a
pet store.

Failing that you'd probably have to order it online from some place
like this if you want that exact size...

or...

Personally, I'd probably see if I could clamp down 1/8" tubing enough
to make it work. You can get 1/8" tubing many places.

I bought some mini aquarium tubing tonight - it's definitely larger
than 1/16" ID, but it comes with couplings that might just do the
trick for me.
Thanks for the idea, this isn't perfect but it oughta do!

I'd love to but it simply won't work with 1/8 tubing. The entire
tube, OD and all, has to be inserted through a small plastic bushing
which then gets inserted into the feed end of the pump. Similarly,
on the supply end, there's a bushing that inserts into the
filter/screen, which goes into the fluid supply cannister.
There's simply no way to scrunch it in there.

I tried to even use a 1/8 ID tube (for acquariums) for the majority of
the tubing, and then slide a short piece of the original tubing inside
that just for the ends, but even those short end pieces soon broke
off. I thought I had it licked, but half an hour later, during
testing, it all came undone - it's so dry rotted it's ricidulous!

I have no choice but to get original 1/8" OD tubing. Or buy a cheapo
fog machine and hope the tubing is the same and use that.. If it isn't
of course, ..well, that'd sorta suck. I think 400w fog machines are
generally useless.

See if a hobby shop has it... the kind that deals with gas engines for
RC models.

Hmm.. I'll have to remember that, but I should be set for this year.
I followed the link TechnoShroom gave me for smallparts.com, and got
10 feet of the stuff. At least that should give me some spare tubing!

In an emergency you might try an automotive store. They should have a
range of small tubing sizes that's used for vacuum lines, fuel lines and
windshield wiper fluid. The first 2 types won't be clear but they should
work in a pinch.

Quick follow-up, just noticed you mentioned Pep-Boys. I'm amazed they
wouldn't have rubber vac tubing that small. Some autos require that size
either for emission parts or old carburetors.

Anyway, glad you found something that will work.

I was kinda surprised too.
I would have my tubing by now by UPS screwed up and mis-routed my
package. God I hate UPS, they always screw up for some reason. Fedex
anyday!
Anyway, I just realized I could've saved a lot of money.
Amazon has the tubing for just $1.25 - I paid 10 times that! acck..

(in case anyone else needs it)
I ordered the amazon tubing too, just in case..

Aw crap. I got my $15 tubing from Small Parts Inc today, I don't
think it's gonna work. For one, it's silicon tubing, not poly, and
it's real soft and stretchy, but also, it's a little too small - both
the ID and the OD don't quite match the original - it's off by enough
of a hair to leak.

Hopefully I get my backup order from Amazon soon, I think that's the
stuff I really want.
God what a PITA, I can see why VEI went out of business.

For loose tubes use a mini zip tie. My fogger had one of those on the
pump end of the tube from the factory. Had to put another on the filter
end because the tubing was getting loose and the filter would fall off
easily.

So have you spent enough on tubing to have bought a new fogger yet? :)

Lol, no, fortunately, not yet.
The first bit of tubing, the silicon, was $15 though. I hope I can
send it back because chances are it won't work.

The other tubing I bought was only $1.25 for 10 feet of it, and should
be here Mon or Tues - I really think I got the right stuff this time.
It's not something you can really tie off, because the tubing has to
fit inside a bushing of sorts, which then inserts into the pump or
filter - so, the outer diameter is as critical as the inner.

#$&*!>#!!!
Got the tubing today...
STILL too small! This will leak and possible pop right out of the
pump, which would ruin the unit. Once I place the unit behind and
under my bush, it's impossible to get to it quickly. No good.

I was hoping material would somehow make a slight difference. Nope.
So, apparently, what I need is not 1/16" ID 1/8" OD, but 3/32" ID and
5/32" OD.
Damn it I'm pissed.
Fortunately, small parts has that too and it's only $5. But 2nd day
shipping bumped it up a lot. I should get it just in time.

If I can return the silicon tubing I bought, it's no big deal -
otherwise, I'm starting to spend too much to fix this damn fogger.
It is, however, a good one worth repair - not like the 400w junk they
sell in dept stores these days.

Then on top of that, a line on my FCG broke tonight. I'm starting to
get worried - the gremlins have my number and they're after me!

Do you have supply tubing still? I need it for a FZ-940 smoke machine and believe it is 1/8"OD...1/16" ID. Probably take 4 ft if you have it.
