nope....no responses.
:(
dont think many people use or know of this group which is a shame. it's
really hard to get any reports from people but i'll throw in my bit....i
went for a test patch last week. laser was the light sheer diod. suppose
to be the 'best' but every operator says that...(it's hard to know what is
and isn't good). laser work was done in about 5 minutes and i found it to
be quite painful!!!!...though there are some creams? that suppose to numb
the skin....i'm not sure. After the laser work was done, my skin was a
little red and blotchy looking for a few days after....it's settled down
now. so far i'm just waiting to see what happens next and if the hairs
grow and fall out....who knows?. The place i went to gave me the hard sell
and told me "we dont bullshit...this really works"...etc. Their prices
were probably the most expensive around and the only reason i chose them
was because they sounded like they knew what they were talking about but
i'm not sure now.
There's another place close by that uses the YAG (alexandrite) laser and
the operator claims its the best laser, painfree and gives no skin
pigmentation...alot of other claims which are hard to believe...
i would appreciate if anybody out there would post some reports on their
own experiences or what they know about laser hair removal.
what i've found so far suggests that work done with the ND:Yag laser
is NOT PERMANENT. your results may vary.
for what it's worth (you've probably seen this), here's a link:

thanks for the links....it's mostly got general info although the claim
the Yag is only temporary is new to me....hmmmm if anyone has any other
info please post it.
i do recall viewing a site that listed all the lasers on the market and
gave an analysis of each but i've forgotten that url.
You are right about not many people knowing about this site. My
computer crashed in August, and it took me forever to find this site
again.
Anyway, about my own experience with laser hair removal...I am an
electrologist and feel the need to know all I can about lasers, so I
had a colleague do one laser treatment on the outer half of my calves
back in February. She used a GentleLASE and had the joules set as
high as possible for the spot size. I wanted to see what if any
damage would be done to my skin. It felt like someone was striking me
with a leather whip! It was more painful than electrolysis on the
legs could ever be...but, it was quick. It is definitely the way to
go for permanent results on a large area. Recently I decided to not
shave my legs for a while to see how much removal I actually had. In
the area treated, I have had at least 75% removal with just the one
treatment. I also had her treat my upper lip and chin. Those hairs
are not as dark as the leg hair and I wouldn't let her use high
settings on my face, and I did have more regrowth than on my legs.
The key I believe is to use as many joules as you can tolerate without
compromising your skin. By the way, my skin did great.
Dan,
I hope you have good results with the Epilight, although it is not a
true laser. It is a flashlamp and time has shown that these devices
are not achieving the results clients are looking for. Most
professionals feel that the EpiLight stuns the hair growth, rather
than destroys it. I have no personal experience with this device, but
because this was the first "laser" in my area, I have treated
(electrolysis) many clients who tried it and had no permanent results
whatsoever. Are the 12 treatments for just your legs or for you
entire body?
