I keep seeing message after message about this, but the easiest,
cheapest and most controllable way of pubic hair removal is to use an
epilator. I have tried three and the best one I have found and use
now is the Philips Satinelle (I find it much better than the Braun I
tried, that nipped my skin!), which is available from Argos for those
of you in the UK (£30-odd very well spent). If you are not used to
epilating your legs then yes, it does hurt a bit, but you soon get
used to it and the hair gets less and less each time. And you don't
have to wait for the hair to get long either, it will remove a
"crewcut" just as well as longer hair.

I start by talcuming the whole area well (it's not good on sticky or
slightly sweaty skin), and you need to remember to pull the area tight
to stretch the skin for best results (particularly the outer labia,
which tend to be more fleshy - they need to be firmly held, otherwise
they can get nipped, even with the Philips). You will find that once
you have gone over the whole area lightly then it will be numbed, and
then you can go back over it to get out those really stubborn hairs.
The results are really good, and you don't get that nasty stubble that
even the best shave can leave - it is completely smooth, looks great
and lasts for ages. (To avoid ingrowing hairs, I use Immac Gentle
Finishing Cream afterwards, which is pretty good.)

I have been seriously considering lasering, but quite honestly, what's
the rush? I'm very happy with epilation.

(I'm quite happy to send close-up photos to interested ladies, just to
show you how effective this method can be.)

Happy epilating!

Forget laser unless you have VERY dark hair and very fair skin, and lots of
dollars. Even then, laser hair removal is not yet proven to be permanent.
I have had great success, both for myself and my clients (I'm an
esthetician) with traditional electrolysis, which is still the only method
that can be called permanent in many areas of the world. Best of all, the
hair to be removed simply needs to be just broken through the skin (even
before it feels like stubble).

Epilation is nothing different than threading, tweezing, or waxing.
