Hi,
I have been involved with hair removal for over five years. Yes, I have a
lot of unwanted hair, and I have been through it all. This includes
shaving, waxing, electrolysis, lasers, and hair removal with light. All I
can say is, beware, because it doesn't always work. The goal of laser hair
removers is NOT to permanently remove hair. Instead, the goal is to reduce
hair to being thinner and lighter to the point where it has a near-peachfuzz
consistency. They say this takes from between 4-10 treatments to achieve
this, but I have had way more than that many treatments on every part of my
body, and to no avail. Yes, the hair is lighter, possibly less dense, but
it just keeps coming back. I have spent probably over 10,000 dollars and it
was NOT worth it.
So, before you invest this kind of money, do treatments little by little.
Wait and see over a period of months to see how the hair grows back. Don't
be fooled: my hair didn't come back for six months, but sure enough, it's
back.
To tell the truth, the most effective treatment was electrolysis. However,
it is extremely slow (going hair follicle by hair follicle, only a patch of
skin the size of a banana peel is covered in a whole hour). It is by far
the most painful, but it did the trick under my chin. The rest of my body
is back to its hairy self after all the faster laser treatments.
I'd be happy to answer any and all questions. No shame here!
