CyberSitter 2003 is now placing the password in two locations instead
of one. It used to be stored only in the EMPBF key below. Now it is
stored additionally in a subkey under InternetSettings below. The name
of the subkey is identical to your VSN (Volume Serial Number) obtained
by typing vol at a command prompt. I guess they want to keep track of
you! Doubtless they capture your VSN and record it in a database. You
can create a .reg file to delete the password. Just substitute a -
sign for the data between the double-quotes, and including the
double-quotes. Include both keys in your .reg file. Run the .reg file
to delete the password and open the CyberSitter control panel.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\063C-15F7]
"Value"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\SecurityProviders\NetSet\MSwcf\EMPBF]
"Value"=-

This program is SO lame. Even on Windows 2000/XP default security
scheme. Here's two more simple hacks to disable it:

1) Ctrl-Alt-Del, Task Manager, Processes, End Task on cyb2k.exe

2) Search for and note the path/directory to wfileu.drv. Open Notepad,
save a blank file as "wfileu.drv" in the same directory as the real
wfileu.drv, replacing it. Put double-quotes around wfileu.drv before
saving it too, to be sure the .drv extension is maintained. You'll
know you did it right if it asks you whether you want to replace it.

In Windows Explorer, navigate to wfileu.drv, right-click on it, go to
Properties, make the file read-only. Reason: Every seven days
CyberSitter automatically updates its filters. When you make this file
read-only CyberSitter can't update it. Wfileu.drv is the filter driver
for the CyberSitter program. When it is not present, there is a big
problem. It screws up internet access. When it is present but screwed
up, there is no problem and no filtering!~. In fact the CyberSitter
icon continues to show active (without the grey "X").
