I'd been wanting to make my own fried noodles like you get at panda
express or some similar place, but couldn't figure it out. After
watching an online video where a guy made his own noodles I came up with
a bit of a 'hack' version using beef flavored ramen.
1. boil beef flavored ramen noodles for a minute or two, leave boiling
lightly until actually needed (only a few minutes).
2. mix powdered beef flavoring in a small amount of hot water
3. use HOT wok, stir-fry strips of beef or ham, deli-sliced lunchmeat
being a convenient source, for a couple of minutes in peanut oil.
4. add soy and/or teriyaki sauce (your choice) and beef flavoring, stir
fry until most of the water boils off (another minute or two)
5. add the (drained) boiled ramen to the wok, and sprinkle some sugar on
top so you get a nice 'glaze'. (the sugar will also balance the vinegar
in the soy/teriyaki)
6. stir fry that all up until the noodles are well coated. shouldn't
take more than a couple of minutes
OK, not really much of a 'hack' except that I use inexpensive flavored
ramen in lieu of more difficult noodles, which adds to the simplicity
AND tastes pretty good.
another nice hack: clean capuccino maker basket by putting a small
amount of liquid soap in your hand and repeatedly 'slapping' the basket
onto your palm. This literally forces the soap through the tiny holes
at a reasonably high pressure (you'll see it foam and occasionally 'pop
up' as a stream). It's actually similar to the way you pack a bearing
with grease by putting grease in your hand and sliding the open part of
the bearing across it.
