Elk and Geese not migrating this winter in my county

A herd of elk are just hanging out at Rabbit Mountain in Boulder County
this time of year, not doing their normal yearly migration patterns.
Seems the geese don't know whether to fly north or south and remain in a
maybe 20 square mile area. Is anyone else noting this phenomena in
their part of the country. One theory is that as the magnetic poles
weaken the wildlife doesn't know which direction to go.
