banjo-mandolin tuning?

seeking advice on correct tuning for 8 string banjo-mandolin. also where i
could find info on chord fingerings.

A regular Mandolin's tuning is from top to bottom: G,D,A,E,(Strings
are tuned in unison) As far as chord fingerings, you should be able to
pick up a book at any decent music store.

If it's got 8 strings it must tune like a mandolin or a tenor banjo..
which I think tunes the same..
try http://www.jumpnet.com/~musicanworkshop
they might be able to help you find tunes..otherwise you'll have to
either use tenor banjo or mandolin stuff..
I'm guessing by the way...!

Tune the strings GDAE (top to bottom). The strings are tuned in unison. Use
any mandolin book for chords and fingerings. I've got a banjo-uke that I tune
the same way.
