I have had my trusty Roland GR50 / GK2 for a number of years. I must
admin it has been a bit neglected lately, but it was used about 4
months ago.
Last week I turned it on and got a message on the screen saying that
the battery power was low - and I needed to replace the battery. Next
discovery was that each of the parameter screens were filled with
gebberish and that I could get no sense or sound out of the thing (
cry sob sob ...) .
I opened the unit up, had a look at the battery, went down to the
local store and purchased a new - identical battery (Same
manufacturer, same code, blah blah blah) and inserted it into the
unit.
I turned it on and to my surprise - the battery warning was not
displayed but it seems that all of the internal memore or whatever has
been corrupted. I went through a few settings and found that they had
rediculous values - toatlly out of allowablle range. After a while -
and with no owners manual I gave up.
So I have a Unit that seems to have its internals corrupted and is
incapable of making any sound at all.
Can somebody please help - even if it is to reset everything to
factory defaults (seems to be the only way out).
I really want to avoid the Roland service guy if possibly, they are
incredibly expensive
Thanks in advance
Peter...

alternatively, there's a key combo that'll wipe out all memory but I don't
have it here/now; I remember finding it through "Harmony Central" synth
guitar section, though (www.harmony-central.com). Good luck!
