I've got a few guitar stands with those rubber straps on the neck holder to
prevent the guitars from falling forward. A few of the straps are starting
to show their age, but none of the guitar shops in town sell those straps by
themselves.

Anyone know where I can order replacement straps for the stands?

I'd think rubber bands would make a replacement. Maybe hair twisties
like
my daughters use.

Yeah, I use the big thick rubber bands and in my opinion, they actually work
better. They will not slip off.

You might want to try sizing up an easy to find vacuum cleaner belt or
something similar.A little more solid than a rubberband.

If your guitar gets into the position where it
would fall forward, out of the stand, I'm pretty
sure that the rubber strap would only keep the
guitar in the stand while the entire stand+guitar
fell forward. No?

In other words, the guitar falls on it's face without
the stand or the guitar falls on it's face with the stand.

I've never seen much use for the rubber strap thingie.

That's an idea. I don't remember where I got these rubber bands I have from,
but they are about the thickness of a vacuum cleaner belt.

Plus; the chemicals that outgas from the little rubber
thingies can damage the finish on some guitars if they
remain in contact with the finish for very long.

Some rubber bands will do the same thing.

I agree - and never use the strap, why add extra weight to the fall. Ed

I love how everyone has a negative opinion of why to use a strap. Some people, have pets. Some of these pets are cats. And if you know anything about cats, they LOVE to rub on every fn thing they can. Hence the need for a strap. They can bump a guitar out of the guitar stand, whereas if they had a band it would stay in place. Trust me I have my guitars bumped out of those without a strap. Funny enough, the ones with a strap, stay standing....
