You are correct sir. It is indeed Joe Walsh's "Life's Been Good." I love
the version on the douple LP Eagles:Live where he changes the lyrics. "I
ride in the trunk in case I'm attacked, etc.

it's not sammy hagar. it's joe walsh's "life's been good to me." the
lyrics to that song are hysterical.

The incomperable Joe Walsh. "Life's Been Good To Me, So Far" is in
fact the title.
Apparently, since you don't recognize this, you may be unaware of a good
deal of Mr. Walsh's career.
I suggest you get to the nearest music store and check out any Greatest
hits CD the guy has.
The early stuff with Rocky Mountanin Way, or Funk #49, (or Funk #48 for
that matter) will rock your socks off.
But, the later material will do the same, as you know from having been
driven nuts by this tune!
(If you like a little humor with your rock n roll, give a listen to The
All Night Laundro Mat Blues...)
And while you're at it, check out his work with the Eagles...
You're in for a treat, no matter which you try.
twang!

I think you may be a couple years too early. If memory serves me, it was
around '79 possibly '80. I think it was the "There Goes The
Neighbourhood" album.

Oh, yeah!! Joe Walsh is one of the best players on the planet.....love
his slide work. My personal faves are the Barnstorm album and The Smoker
You Drink with The Confessor a close runner-up. Stolen many a Walsh lick
in my day : ).

Bzzzzz...Wrong Answer. That is an REO Speedwagon album title. The Joe
Walsh album that has "Lifes been good" is called "But Seriously Folks",
I think. He does have an older album called "The Smoker you drink the
player you get" which is almost as musing a pun as the REO title. And
then there's the John Cougar album title "Nothing matters and what if it
did". Anyone else know any amusing album titles?

No, no... you're thinking of asphalt (no, that's not a rectal diesease).

Seriously, the You Can Tune... is, I believe, and REO Speed Wagon album.
The Walsh album this song is on is the one where he's got a cafe setting
set up on the bottom of a swimming pool; I can't remember the name of
it. A live version is also on the 1st live Eagles album (red road case
thing).

Boy, it has been a long time. Could of swore that it was the Joe Walsh
album, but I could be wrong. I even pictured the swimming pool thing when
I thought of the name of the album. I confess, though, that I can't be
held responsible for accurately remembering anything between about 1978 and
1983.

The But Seriously Folks album cover had a picture of Joe Walsh
underwater (or in the proximity) of a pool with a suit, tie and
briefcase and such I believe.

The REO cover (You can tuna piano but you can't tuna fish) ... was a
fish with a tuning fork coming out of it's mouth ... Sparked by the
success of their live album ... Tuna Fish was a breakthrough record for
the band ... spawning hits such as "Time for me to fly" and "Roll with
the Changes". Their follow up Nine Lives album fizzled and quickly led
to a greatest hits album release and what looked like a career for the
midwest pop rockers. But then out of the blue came their mega-success
High Infidelity in '81 ... That along with AC/DC's Back in Black were
two cassettes you could find next to the doobie in almost any high
school kid's car at the time. And now of course they suck (At least
guitarist Gary Richrath (his best work was on the live album "You Get
what you play for" 20 years ago) had senses enough to leave the band and
stop beating a dead horse)
