I am an intermediate level player and just got a Cry Baby Wah Wah. Can
anyone suggest some songs that use Wah Wah...I'm in to 60s and 70s
classic rock. I know there's some Hendrix and Cream but this is a bit
too hard to master off the start. Any other suggestions?

Thanks
Tom

One song I can think of right off the bat that the solo uses a wah wah and
it is really easy. It is the solo in Loverboy's Working for the Weekend.
It is just two notes at a time played with a tremolo style picking (only
pick in time as opposed to the standard method of tremelo picking which is
to pick as fast as you can). You just move the wah wah back and forth
through the frequency range with striking the notes. If I think of any
others I will post again. Is this too easy for you. Not exactly sure of
what you are looking for.
Good Luck,
Dominator!

i think voodoo chile is the classic wah song.
try it. it's not too hard to learn and make it sound good and you'll have a
blast playing it.

Tom, get anything by Uriah Heep...Mick Box is the master of the wah wah
pedal and uses it extensively. Highly recommended are the classic albums,
Demons and Wizards, Magicians Birthday, and Uriah Heep Live 73 to start
with. But as I said, you can get any album from Heep and be assured there
will be some wah on it by Mick. The solo in the song "Magicians Birthday" is
awesome. It's also some of the greatest classic rock you will hear. They are
STILL touring after over 30 years and are better than ever. Check them out
at www.uriah-heep.com bOb

Try playing Hendrix's Voodoo Child. It SOUNDS much harder than it is. You
won't sound like him, but you'll get the basics down. It's what I used to
play a wah (I've also got a Crybaby).

One trick I've played around with... dual Wahwah's, in sequence. Allows for
some unusual sounds, but you pretty much need to be sitting down.

You might check out Tom Petty's "Makin' Some Noise" and "Built To Last"
(Mike Campbell on guitar) from his album "Into The Great Wide Open".
It's more of a 50's sound than classic rock, but still pretty cool.
