just in time for the holidays!
what a joke.
$199 for a POS laminated plank and crappy solid state mini amp
that would be better served functioning as *doorstop*
looking to rip off unknowing housewives across the nation by hawking off
a sub-par 'instrument' package that SHOULD sell for $20 total- at best.
This guy is making a *killing* selling over 8500 units in a matter of
30 minutes. He was on ALL WEEKEND too, like 10 seperate slots.
At $199 x 9000. You do the math. MILLIONS of dollars.
did anyone catch him on HSN this weekend? Oh man that was some funny shit.
He compared his guitar-bage to a $1000 American made guitar then went on
to yammer about his "exclusive design" "handmade quality" "only the best parts"
"incredible tones and variety" "quality hard wood" then when he actually played
the guitar-bage it sounded TERRIBLE! I mean this was total comedy. Like a bad
SNL episode or something. I was at my father's place for the weekend and he
said it was the absolute tinniest, WORST guitar tone he has ever heard in his life
{!} and couldn't believe this Zorro scammer is getting away with it. Even the faux
"phone calls" into the show were completely and totally staged -from some
"professional musician" who claimed to 'only use all Esteban guitars exclusively
for his 'live performances' and recording to the over-enthusiastic "fan" who praised
Este-frauds junk guitarbage as "incredible works of art" and "better sounding than
any guitar on the market 'bar none" I was laughing so hard I spit ice cream all over
the floor. I know what I want to see under the tree this Christmas!
THAT's IT! I'M SELLING ALL MY GUITARS TO BUY AN *ESTEBAN!!*

The amp sure sounded like crap, didn't it?! And, Esteban says "it gets
150 different tone by using the 5 way "tone" switch on the guitar and
the tones on the amp." Well, DAMN. I'm gonna have dump my Super
Reverb, Marshall and Mesa and get me one of those magical little amps!

Well, he did guarantee that "it's the easiest guitar in the world to
play" because he designed it with "feather touch."

You ought to give it a chance. Free comedy entertainment when Esteban
is on!
Sad part is the buyers have no clue they could get a solid top guitar for
that money, (Washburn D10s springs to mind) and have something worthy of the
investment that's actually playable and won't pop at the seams in 6 months!
This new "best guitar in the world" is a solid body. Looks LP special,
with Strat 3 p'up setup.
Dear God - 'Guitar-bage' and 'Este-fraud' in one post ....That's pure
Gold!
I think we know what to get Jarl this Christmas :)

selling these very inferior guitars on television. somebody should put
a stop to it.

I gotta tell you a story tho. I was at a clients house about a month ago and
saw this wierd vinyl guitar case. I asked what was in it and the owner proudly
displayed to me his esteban acoustic and said he just HAD to go the extra mile
and get the case to protect such a fine instrument. I asked if I could play it.
Guess what? I was rather nice. Not great. But not a bad guitar.
(playability-wise) Fine action and ok tone. Easily rivaling the $200 Guitar
Center offerings. Don't get me wrong as I won't have credit card in-hand the
next time I see it on the boob tube but it wasn't really a crime like I
pre-supposed it to be.
Funny..it seems everybody plays guitar to some degree. If you went to a party
with 100 people in attendance and made all those who play or have played guitar
wear a red badge I wonder how many badges you could count? 5? 10? maybe even
15? And this estaban guy MASS markets the idea coast to coast. Amazing stuff
man. All these people with varying fantasies...singing and playing guitar
around the campfire to rock star guitar god and everything in between. What
other instrument has that kind of mass appeal?
The kazoo... it has to be the kazoo?
LOL!!! yeah...ya got me there! I was looking at kazoos the other day. Problem
was guitar center only had Gibson kazoos in stock and I didn't have a spare
$329.
Don't waste your money. Hendrix used a comb and a piece of cellophane.
You're freakin' kidding me... Is that what they actually go for?? - Was it
electric at least??
You can get the Epiphone for less than half that - change out the wax paper,
mouthpeice & that little cone thing and you've got something that's just as
good.
Except, of course, the paper is made from poplar....

but the big thing is - will it get you that authentic Hendrix
"Crosstown Traffic" kazoo tone?
Digital kazoo is the wave of the future!
Digital modeling of all your favorite kazoo sounds at the touch of your
lips! I mean really who has the time, money and transportation for all the
kazoo's you need in most of today's live and recording sessions? Lime7's
model should be out for Christmas!!!
LOL!
I actually have an electric kazoo that I got from eBay for my boy. It's
called the Kazooka and you can play it through your guitar rig. What a hoot!

There was a time where I thought I saw, or read about one that could be
used as a quasi-MIDI controller - which totally interested me, because I
could hum the best solo in the world, and then play it back through some
guitar patch - but, I never persued it.
So, Imagine how that thing would sound through MY rig Thad :)
BTW - I have a whole new rack rig - will have to send you a picture..
You could that with any pitch-to-MIDI converter (either hardware or
software). You don't even have to have a Kazoo, just hum into the
microphone.
You lucky bastard, all the local music shops out sold out here except one
place that has a '59 Historic Heritage Harmonica Killer kazoo from the
custom shop with flamed maple bezzle and Buzz-Tone re-issue wax paper for
$2200.
Beautiful burst color though..

heh heh
He may already own one! with stock in the Este-fraud Corporation!
In fact he probably designed the "midnight legacy" *puke* x-~
thanks Bob ";-) I was kind of feeling inspired {or insipid? heh} to type it all up.
Did try calling into the show but mysteriously enough I could NEVER get
online to "talk live with the host" & say a few words to Mr. Estefraud.
hmmm..
Strange huh? Seems only his staged "customers" and those many
"professional musicians" who "play his guitars exclusively" were able
to get through on the air for live simultaneous TV broadcast..
I was really itching to be put on, at least ask what sweat-shop 'factory'
in Korea & China his plywood/potmetal/tinfoil $15 guitarbage is
"hand assembled" in....then ask why he is charging 1000s of
unknowing housewives $199 for a pile of subpar glued together
plywood & tinfoil parts that should cost no more than $15US$.
Followed up by "how can you sleep at night, Mr. Estefraud -
knowing you are blatantly RIPPING PEOPLE OFF, lying thru
your zorro-faux teeth, selling out for money?"
/etc.
Fucking scammer should be in prison.
Good comedy eh. much better than SNL or dave chapelle/etc.
> LOVED the headstock!!hehehhe but it DID look for all the world to be a P.O.S.
that "hand carved headstock" {right..} looks like a fukkin Godzilla BOTTLE OPENER !
a GREAT guitarbage to SMASH onstage, that's fer sure!

turntables?
PRS should sue Gibbon for copying their spalted maple top- kazoo idea..
battery powered, also doubles as portable face-shaver
egads! they're now asking $247 for the guitarbage!! THE PRICE WENT UP!
was "$199" this weekend when I saw the show.

This one sez it all:
"Don't be fooled by this piece of crap! 12/12/2004
Please, I beg of you, do not be fooled by Esteban's Midnight Legacy guitar.
It is of extremely poor quality, and any beginner who wants to have an
enjoyable first time playing experience should stay far, far away from any
instrument sold on television! Linden wood is not a high quality wood!! It is
the cheapest wood Esteban could find in the factory that makes these
instruments, which is either in Korea or Indonesia. the wood sounds terrible,
and despite what Esteban tells you, a guitar does not sound better because
it is heavier! That guitar is not even worth you phone call, let alone the $199.99
asking price. Please, if you want to give a guitar as a gift, spend the extra $50.00
on a real starter pack from Fender or Gibson. Your local Guitar Center has them,
and so does Musician's Friend online at www.musiciansfriend.com ... they won't
even charge you shipping."
hell that should be enough distance to at least chuck it into the lit fireplace,
amp following duly in tow. Don't forget the "exclusive DVD" !
> If there was any doubt about cutting corners...
According to the comedy show 'statistics" over 10,000 of those POS were
sold over the weekend. TEN THOUSAND! at $199 each.
> And what the heck is a Lindenwood body?
it's an Estefraud originated term for "half glued plywood" and "korean sweat shop".
No wonder he wears sunglasses. the Zorro fraud's gotta hide his beady eyes
from the housewives with their husbands credit card he's ripping off..
Had to google... Came up with "The Linden is an oriental relative of the
Lime tree. In the climate of South China the tree grows relatively fast
producing an even grain much favored by carvers" on a site selling "hand
carved Lindenwood tables".
I swore I saw a table routed for 3 pickups...
You come up the the funniest terms! Man, I don't know how you do it... I
salute you.
Killer post, Scoots. I can't believe this guy is able to get away with

it's actually a good thing.. people will buy his crappy guitars.. those who probably
have never thought going to a guitar store.. all With the help of powerful infomercials
then, these same buyers will quickly learn that their guitars, compared to better
built ones, suck ..
what will happen then is:
A: they will then go to REAL stores to get better built guitars..
B: they will become like us.. gear driven freaks who can't go 6 months
without adding a 'new' addition to our already too big musical paraphenelia!!
