Here's an arrangement of AYBCS for bands that have only two guitarists,
and thus the lead guitar has to play both parts while the rhythm guy
chunks away at the chords. Admittedly a tad weak in the middle section,
but it sounds pretty good in my band.
I learned this by taping the chords ***very*** slow and playing until I
knew it at that speed. Once I had it learned, it sped up pretty easily
for me.
What a masterpiece this is. Aren't those chords in the middle section
amazing? When it gets back to the 'E' chord (e.g., "You may be
awoken"), it sure doesn't feel like the home key, does it? But it all
works beautifully. Cosmic bass playing by Mr. Mc
Cartney, too. Enjoy.

Subject: The Beatles -- Blackbird
Well, in one of my fits of insanity, I arranged the Beatles' tune "Blackbird"
for bass. The following is the arrangement, which combines the vocal line
and the guitar line. I've worked on it on and off for about a week, and can
play it almost up to speed. You will notice that some of the rhythms don't
add up per measure. This is due to some notes in the chords having different
lenghts, which I can't show in tab. Also, '$' means "D.S. Sign" and '@' is
a fermata. The arrangement is in the original key (G), which means I
use 24 frets. If you don't have 24 frets on your bass, just move everything
down a couple of frets.

well, no-one seems to have done this, so I'll give it a shot... it's pretty
hard to describe exactly what's going on with the rhythm here... and it's also
hard to play along with (if I remember correctly, the distorted (single)
version is tuned to somewhere between 2 and 3 half-steps up (yeah, it's just
"randomly somewhere in between" - try it!), and I think the acoustic
version on the White Album is maybe 1 or 2 half-steps up... at any rate,
I'll tab it in A because it's easiest (only possible ?) to play that way.
(also, I really never figured out the lead part... if someone would
care to chip in [or maybe I'll get around to it someday])
