I use one in my live rig and I like it, mostly.
It doesn't sound as good as everything it models, but it sounds good
enough that I don't need a separate leslie effect, flanger and my amp
tremolo footswitch. On some of the patches, there is a volume drop
when the effect is engaged. I have learned to dig in harder to
compensate, and Keeley (I think) has a mod for it.
It will give you lots of good sounding mod effects with only one power
supply and patch cable required, and there's a lot to be said for that
in my book.

I have an MM4, too. I bought it a few years ago for a specific event,
but I haven't used it much since. I like most of the effects pretty
well. I was especially impressed with the leslie simulation. Seems to
me I had an occasional intermittent problem where it wouldn't respond
to the patch switch buttons every time, but I don't remember the
specific details. Anyway, I like the unit.

I couldnt deal with that, on mine. The volume drop was too severe for me
and my guitar would just get lost in our bands mix. good unit otherwise..
No ability to adjust the level when saving a preset???
I like the DM4 distortion modeler. It has a volume boost when you twist
the knobs to a new setting. But you can adjust the level in your
presets. Just a bit annoying when you're initially setting the unit.
Another person pointed out that the MM4 wasn't "as good" as each of the
real devices, but worth it as a package. I think that's a fair comment
on all of the Line 6 "4" type pedals. I also own the DL4 delay. Yeah,
I'd rather have the various TAPE units and what-not, but that ain't
gonna happen. So the DL4 does the job.
I haven't felt the need for the MM4. I have a Hughes and Kettner
Rotosphere that I like for the Leslie effect.
