Hello everyone!

I have a Ross Compressor clone that has been available for sometime now. I
have many reviews on Harmony Central that you can view, just look for them
under the Manufacturer KEELEY.
It's a very transperant, noise free clone of the early Gray ROSS. It has the
exact same out of date transistors. These are hard to come by and they are
instrumental in getting the right sound from a compressor. I also use True
Bypass and a blue effect LED!!!!
Thanks for reading!
Please check out my web site.

Very original, analog man does not use a blue LED.

I forgot to mention the fact that Tantalum Capacitors are also key in
recreating the tone. Most effects builders use Electrolytics and so did ROSS
when they came out with the Black model compressor. Tantalum capacitors have a
more linear frequency response than electrolytics of the same value. This
improves the tone of my pedal over others. I also use film capacitors where
the Ross used ceramic capacitors. Ceramic capacitors sound terribly harsh and
should not be used in high end audio gear. I also stablize the power supply
better than the Ross design and add better grounding for reducing noise. I
also stablize the input voltage so that there is a minimal amount of turn-on
pop when using this pedal. After the first or second activation of the pedal
there should be no clicking heard. All of these are unique to my clone of the
Ross.
Thanks for reading!

No, actually you copied all of those
features from my COMPROSSOR, you can see them on the pictures of the circuit
and descriptions on my web site.

But you don't use high quality double-sided boards with ground plane shielding,
and your circuit boards and soldering are totally inferior to mine as can be
seen in the pictures.

Why don't you try to do something that I have not already done, for a change?
My vision can't be so great that everything I do needs to be redone. If it were
I should just start a think tank and I don't have to build anything.

And please stop spamming and having your students put up reviews bashing my
pedals, it makes you look very bad as people see through this easily.

I don't have a teaching job to fall back on so I have to do it right, and I try
to earn respect by making the best pedals and supporting them best, not by
spamming and spreading lies.

Sincerely yours,

Is a public forum the place for this?

LOL! That's why it's so funny, a copy of my copy! I had to laugh when I read my
own post... what I do is develop the products that people are contstantly
asking me for in the vintage effects market. When I started in the early 90s
(pre internet) everyone wanted a TS-808, so I got one and traced it out and
found out how to mod a TS9 into an 808. Not rocket science but in the last few
years it has created a small cottage industry, many of which copied exact
sections of my web site in their ads.

Then in 1998 with the help of Alfonso Hermida, I made my Clone Clone chorus
which was based on the EH small clone which was very popular a few years back
due to Kurt Cobain and others. My version has since been improved
significantly along with the stereo option.
Almost every effect you see on the market is a copy of something else, the
other companies just don't admit it.

When I researched compressor schematics for my latest COMPROSSOR version's
Attack control (not yet copied but don't hold your breath) I saw that all ten
of the compressors I studied were basically copied from the MXR dynacomp design
of 1974. When something works, use it, but improve it.

I guess imitation is the highest form of flattery so I should not be
bothered... until someone combines the Orange Squeezer with the Ross - LOL!!!

I am sorry that I replied to Mr. Keely, from now on I'll stick to making pedals
and try to avoid reading the forums which only leads to raising my blood
pressure for no reason. I wish Mr. Keely the best of luck.

YES.......say what you like within the context of the
Forums intended focus..ie. GUITAR EFFECTS and its related pooh.
it certainly does piss you off when you are trying to earn living, doing
what you love and hoping to give back to your community. When
someone comes along with no imagination and more money to
steal what you've poured yourself into...it is decimating at times.
I had someone local, who I taught the ways of the sales in used
equipment and he took his thousands-went into biz' and has been taking away
my
business. Who the hells gonna be happy about that shizzz.
And I'm F'n thankful I have a forum to speak into,vent,praise,whatever.
The last thing this NG needs are drive-by spammers...

Absolutely. I support Analog Mike. He's been here a hell of a long time,
helps people out, contributes information, and like him or dislike his
effects (he sometimes can get on people's nerves), it's certainly bad form
to copy someone else's copy exactly and then try to pass it off as something
original.
As for the other guy's students bashing Mike's effects, I don't know
anything about that and I imagine that would be hard to prove unless they
admit they are students of Mr. Keeley or are all posting from the same
".edu" ISP. LOL!

Mike - There are all kinds out there. Let's see him run a business with
great products and a warm, friend-like level of customer service;
Particularly in the vintage music business, where - let's face it - there is
a lot of snobbery and wannabe heroes. I know several great techs that got
out because they couldn't stand their customers sometimes.

Your perseverance is appreciated.
