Hi and thanks in advance for any help. I know the serial # Fender guitars
usually begins with a letter (S,E, N) and then a number representing the
year made. I know they numbered some models differently. Can anyone tell me
about alternate serial # such as those beginning with J0

Thanks,
David

The Fender site says that a Guitar starting with J in the serial number is
Japanese and made in 1989 or 1990. Check it out. http://www.fender.com/ Go
to Support, then FAQ, then Dating Your Japanese Axe.

I hope this helps,

Sorry, I missed that the chart says that a Guitar starting with JV + 5 Digits in
the serial number is Japanese and made in 1982-1984. Since yours starts with J0 it
is Japanese and made 1989 or 1990 as the chart says J + 6 Digits. I'm guessing
that yours was made in 1990 as the first Digit is 0 as opposed to a 9 which might
mean 1989.
