do country gitarrists use wah-wah pedals.
I saw just a few weeks ago Rock-gitarrists using all the
same wah-wah pedal 'cry baby'. Is it the best?
And what's about pedal-steel, is it done with the
volume pedal.
thanks, Roland
The Dunlop Cry Baby IS NOT the only wah pedal around. you can spend 50
bucks on a used Crybaby or 300+ dollars on a luscious Teese Real McCoy wah
or a Fulltone. I cruised the classified listings at Harmony-Central.com and
the newsgroups (like here) and even scoped out that shark pit, eBay (mostly
for $$ and cents numbers). Once I saw what was available, I went back to
Harmony-Central.com and read the reviews by users. Also solicited the
effects and guitar newsgroups for opinions. I actually settled on an obscure
wah (Dearmond Weeper) that a private party was selling very reasonably. It
has some vintage guts, and I am changing out the wah pot with one of
Geoffrey Teese's ICAR knockoffs. Can't wait!
Bottom line... there are lots of wahs with different sounds. Some even say
the basic Crybaby wah is one of the weakest around. But you don't have to
pay top dollar for a good one.
As far as volume pedal...yes, the steel pedal guitarists are the primary
users of the volume pedal (they do not do wah)
go crazy and rock on
