A little question here.
When connecting my zoom 505 to my Marshall JCM 800 50w combo
through the effect loop, I only get a LOT of noise.
I bought the zoom 505 only to get the hold of the reverb and the pitch.
Do they not match?

getting really angry here now so any help would be appriciated...

I just plugged the 505 into the effects loop of my amp, and I got the
most horrible noise and feedback I've ever heard! The output level and
noise level of the 505 is too high to be used like that. You can either
lower the output level of individual patches, or lower the global output
level of the 505. You won't get rid of the noise that way, I suggest you
not use the 505 in the effects loop as it will still be noisy. Put it in
the chain of effects between your guitar and your amp.

I have a 505 that I run through the effects loop of a Marshall JCM
2000....it has a button like the channel selector on the back by the effect
loop called "Loop Level"....if it's not in the right position, I will get a
lot of noise....I don't know if the combo has a loop level or not...just an
idea

Hey, I saw your post and I was just gonig to ask you a question since I myself
own both a Zoom 505 and a Marshall JCM200 and cab. Do you get more feedback
running the pedal from the effects loop or just direct from the amp to the
pedal to the guitar? I'm getting too much from the amp to the pedal to the
guitar, and it's killing my sound. If it is better in the effects loop, please
let me know. I can't stand the crap I'm getting. Thanks!

Well, effect loop or not. I get, like you, a lot of feedback if i directly
go through the zoom and into the amp. I prefer to be able to blend the zoom
sound with my amp sound. It seems like the guitar is quite important as
well. Do you use high output mics? This can be a problem since the zoom
output seems extremely high.
I have to modify my effects loop to get it to work properly.
So I have to say that I prefer the sound through the effect loop.

Huh, you gotta JCM-2000 and trashing it with a Zoom505?

THROW THE ZOOM in the TRASH and crank up the 2000.

You are totally wasting a great amp.
Zooms are fine for practice in the bedroom or when the kids are asleep.

Loose it.

Why the hell are you using the 505 for tone when you have such a nice amp? It's
fucking beyond me, throw the 505 as far away from that Marshall as your arm
strength allows, and then you're ready for some real playing.

It's just like the other day I saw someone say how they were using a Boss DS1
pedal into a Fender Hot Rod amp. That is fucked up.

Yeah, it's creepy, but strangely profound.

Hey, watch it, we do this all the time! And don't forget the beef
sausage, and don't forget to light some incense.....
