I'm really taken with the "intelligent" harmoniser on the PX4, and trying to
come to grips with it. When you set it to "minor 3rd down" and set the key
to E, it plays the correct 3rd interval down for the key of Em, except for
the E itself, where it plays a 5th down (ie a B). It even does correct
sounding harmonies for the off-key notes. I suppose they use the 5th
interval for the key note to create a harmonic centre? I can get some nice
jazz/blues sounds just by playing a pentatonic minors, they get even jazzier
if I play in a key other than the one the harmoniser is set for.

The modulator also has a fixed interval harmoniser, which if you set it an
octave down does a pretty good impersonation of a bass, neat for slide on
something like "Death Letter Blues"

Ain't modern technology wonderful. I think I'm going into my second
childhood.

The question is can it actually be used in contex? I bought one for
the wifes vocals and while cool , I just could not get it to work in
an actual song ( where it broke the "rules"). So I returned it. So
lets hear it working in a song .. post please. ed

So far I've only got jazzy sounds that someone like Ella Fitzgerald might
have been able to deal with, but I'll have a go at something a bit less far
out. Hmmm, maybe "St James Infirmary".
